Program and Unit Planning & Assessment
Program and Unit Planning & Assessment supports a structured, repeatable process for evaluating effectiveness, documenting improvement, and supporting data-informed decision making across academic programs and administrative units.
Through this process, institutions can:
- Define and document missions, goals, and outcomes
- Align program and unit planning with institutional priorities
- Collect and evaluate assessment evidence
- Track progress over time and close the assessment loop
- Support program review, accreditation, and continuous improvement
The system is designed to work across multiple cycles, allowing institutions to plan, assess, and review programs and units in a consistent and transparent way while still accommodating local practices and disciplinary differences.
Getting started
Program and Unit Planning & Assessment is organized around a planning matrix and one or more assessment cycles. Before contributors begin entering program or unit information, an initial setup process is required.
To get started:
- Create a planning matrix template
- Import list of programs or units
- (Optional) Import existing plans, goals and more
- Create a Matrix assessment for this cycle
- Assign programs and units to the Matrix assessment
- Assign reviewers
- For each program or unit assessment:
- assign contributors who will submit program or unit information
- Initialize the Plan for that cycle
Once setup is complete, contributors can begin entering data, reviewers can evaluate submissions, and the institution can track progress throughout the assessment cycle.
