There are two options to use when you reach RCampus from a Canvas Course. Here's a description of each:
Contents
1. Assess with iRubric:
Standard option. Use this option to select an iRubric to evaluate students with. Grades can be posted back to Canvas automatically.
Use-case Scenarios
- Typical use: You are grading students with iRubric and may need course and program level reports.
- You are using RCampus CBE (Competency-based Education) to enhance Canvas courses.
- You are participating in an institutional outcomes research and analytics such as Gen Ed outcomes or reports for accreditation.
- You want students to submit their work directly to RCampus/iRubric for other purposes such as to conduct independent, multi-rator, secondary assessments.
- You are using iRubric with multiple LMS, or in conjunction with RCampus ePortfolios and need a central location for performance data and outcomes reports.
Note: This option can be combined with Option 2 below to fetch student submissions from Canvas
2. Import Student Submissions:
Use this option to import student submissions from Canvas into iRubric.
Use-case Scenarios
- Typical use: You want to get student submissions into an assessment folder (iRubric Rapid) to conduct independent, multi-rator, secondary assessments. These are good for QEP assessments, or any internal assessments to re-evaluate student work in an unbiased fashion.
- You still want to use iRubric for evaluation student work within the course, but want students to upload directly to Canvas and not to RCampus/iRubric. NOTE: Do NOT use Canvas Assignment's External Tool. The External Tool in Canvas will disable the ability for students to upload to canvas. Use the RCampus/iRubric tab your course navigation to access RCampus/iRubric
