Definition
Learning standards or simply standards are a set of descriptions of skills and knowledge that is expected of students at any specific stage of their education. A learning standard could refer to what students should have learned by the end of course or school year, grade level, degree, or time period. Generally standards do not dictate any method of learning or assessments, by may prescribe them as supplementary materials and examples.
