In RCampus, student demographics are referred to as properties to enable a broader and more flexible application across various reporting and assessment needs.

Example of traditional demographics:

  • Gender
  • Nationality
  • Ethnicity
  • Race
  • First-generation status

Properties, however, are not limited to traditional demographic fields, but can include other student-specific data such as:

  • Musical instrument (for music students)
  • Teaching subject (for education students)
  • Core programming language (for computer science students)
  • Internship location

This flexible use of properties allows institutions to track and report on meaningful and custom data points that support both academic and administrative decision-making.

Importing Demographics

Demographic data (properties) can be imported into RCampus through:

  • Secure file drops from institutional SIS systems
  • Manual uploads using templates available to system administrators within the RCampus interface

These methods ensure that data is consistent and secure, while allowing institutions to define which data fields are most relevant to their reporting and assessment needs.

Use in Reporting

RCampus integrates demographics into all levels of assessment and outcomes reporting, including aggregate and detailed reports such as:

  • Institutional-level reports
  • Program or department-level reports
  • Course-level outcomes assessments
  • Detailed Assessment reports

When generating reports, users can segment or filter the data by any available demographic property. This supports deep analysis of student learning and equity trends across different population groups and academic divisions.

iRubric Rapid and LMS Integration

RCampus’s iRubric Rapid supports integration with popular LMS platforms (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard) and uses a combined dataset from the LMS, SIS, and demographics to generate comprehensive reports.

While LMS platforms typically do not store demographic information, iRubric Rapid pulls assignment and scoring data from the LMS and aligns it with the demographic properties stored in RCampus. This integration enables:

  • Equity-focused assessment analytics
  • Demographic breakdowns of rubric-based evaluations
  • Program or accreditation reports filtered by any property
