Program Goals

Program Goals represent the broad, long-term aspirations of an academic or administrative unit. They provide overarching direction and describe what the program ultimately aims to achieve.


Purpose

Goals set the foundation for the assessment process. They:

  • Define the high-level vision of the program
  • Guide the development of objectives, actions, and outcomes
  • Align with institutional mission and strategic priorities


Characteristics

A well-defined program goal should be:
