There are two ways for faculty and teams to send and read team messages.

  • Using the class discussion tool: All class websites come with a class discussions tool which allows team messaging.
  • Using the message center: All accounts come with its own message board. Recipients are categorized by types such as classes, teams, individuals, etc.

Note: A team cannot send or view messages for other teams. Faculty can send or view messages for all teams.


Sending a message

Method 1: Class websites

  1. From top menu select classroom then classes submenu.
  2. Click on the class title to go to the class website home page.
  3. Click on the + sign next to the class discussions side menu to expand it.
  4. Click on a team name.
  5. Press the write message button.
  6. Enter message subject, the message content and press [post].


Method 2: Message center

  1. Click on the message icon (mail.gif) on top of the page.
  2. Click on the write submenu.
    • Faculty will see a Select teams link next to the class titles. Click the link and select one or more teams.
    • Students will see a list of teams to select under recipients. Select teams by checking the box next to the team name.
  3. Enter message subject, the message content and press [post].


Reading team messages

Method 1: Class websites

  1. From top menu select classroom then classes submenu.
  2. Click on the class title to go to the class website home page.
  3. Click on the + sign next to the class discussions side menu to expand it.
  4. Click on a team name to see a list of messages for that team.


Method 2: Message center

  1. Click on the message icon (mail.gif) on top of the page.
  2. Click on the inbox submenu.
  3. From the side menus, select the team name under its class title. A list of team messages will display.
