Multi Rater Assessment Creation
Contents
Overview
Assessment leads create and configure assessment folders in iRubric Rapid. Each folder holds a collection of student submissions (child assessments) and defines which rubric, evaluators, and settings apply to the entire batch.
Note: The rubric must exist and be locked before you create the assessment folder. See How to build a rubric.
Note: If using LMS or other integrations, make sure evaluators have logged into RCampus at least once for their account to exist before they can be added to a folder.
Step 1 — Create the Assessment Folder
- From the main menu, go to Rubrics > Assessments.
- Click Create a new assessment.
- Select the rubric from the dropdown menu.
- Under Option 2, select Quick Setup or Enhanced Setup under Rapid.
- Enter the assessment title and any general information.
Note: Use a clear, consistent folder name — typically the course title, outcome name, or another identifier your department agrees on (e.g., ENG 101 – Written Communication – FA2025).
Step 2 — Configure Advanced Settings
Click Advanced Options to configure additional settings before saving:
- Blind Assessment — enable this if evaluators should not see student names during scoring.
- Allow evaluators to upload documents — enable this if raters, rather than the assessment lead, will upload submissions.
- Other options as needed for your assessment design.
Press Save when done.
Note: Blind Assessment hides student-identifying information during scoring. It does not issue grades — this is an assessment, not a grading tool. Remind students not to include their names inside submitted documents if blind assessment is enabled.
Step 3 — Add Evaluators
- In the Groups section, search for and select the evaluators (raters) for this assessment.
- Evaluators can be added individually or as a group.
- Press Continue when done. The assessment folder is now created.
Note: To create evaluator groups, see the Create Private Groups tutorial.
Step 4 — Uploading Submissions Manually
Facilitators and evaluators (if allowed) can upload submissions manually:
- Ppen the assessment folder.
- Click the context menu (⋯ ellipsis button) and select Add Items.
- In the Add Documents dialog, drag and drop files into the Option A area.
- If uploading a zip file, click OK when prompted to extract — the system will create one child assessment per file automatically.
Note: No special file naming is required. Zip files are automatically extracted. Each file becomes one child assessment item in the folder.
